What should I do to become a physics professor?

This fall I am going to be a sophmore in high school. What can I do to prepare for a major in physics in college? Also what is the best university for studying physics?

take AP physics and other classes as soon as you can in your school, be sure to get good grades and get extra help with the material, and do research on different colleges to pick one that you think is good.
there are a lot of really great colleges with great science programs and departments.
in your college search you will find information from about 5000 different colleges all over the world.
and if u wanna get paid higher, go for PHD in physics, that way you can work as a professor if you want, and get paid like 95000 a year, and if u get sick of that, you can always work as a scientist in a lab.
best of luck to you

For acceptance as a physics major you need:
Grades good enough to get accepted.
Good Science grades
Good math grades.
(You will be playing catch up if you don’t have any Calculus.)
To become a college Instructor (as opposed to a Professor)
you need:
A degree (preferably a Masters,. preferably in physics)
OR
A Bachelors degree (preferably in physics or engineering)
with work experience in applied physics.
If you do not already have a masters degree in physics or
education, you will work on your masters while you are an
associate instructor.
To become a Professor you need Tenure (so many years on
the faculty.) What degree you need depends on the college
or university where you are employed. A few professors do
not have a PhD, but they have a lot of time as a college
teacher and a lot of published work in the field of physics.
“Which school is best?” is a sure way to start a fight!
I went to RIT myself (Rochester Institute of Technology.)
Physics covers a broad spectrum of disciplines, some
schools have a better reputation in some branches of
physics than in other branches
.
