The title says it all. Please just explain what topics it relates to in chemistry.

photosynthesis IS a chemical reaction requiring oxygen and water and sunlight as a catalyst

Photosynthesis is a chemical reaction.

6 CO2(g) + 12 H2O(l) + photons ? C6H12O6(aq) + 6 O2(g) + 6 H2O(l)

OR a simpler

6 CO2(g) + 6 H2O(l) + photons ? C6H12O6(aq) + 6 O2(g)

1. Oxidation Reduction (Electron transfer)chemistry:
Photosynthesis is a basically an oxidation-reduction reaction that leads to the conversion of H2O and CO2 into C6H12O6 and O2. Through the transfer of electrons, the oxygen in the water is oxidized, and conversely, the carbon in CO2 is reduced.
2.Thermodynamics:
Photosynthesis also deals with thermodynamics(as all chemical reactions do). It is an endothermic process as the reaction requires the addition of energy (in the form light) to synthesize the sugar and oxygen, which are higher in energy than the reactants.
3.Conversion of Light into Chemical energy(self-explanatory)
4.Molecules:
The structures of the various pigment molecules, electron acceptors, and how they interact and facilitate the transfer of energy are also an important aspect of the process. There also various enzymes involved in the process, their structure and interaction with t\their substrates deals with studies in chemistry
5.Kinetics
The rate of photosynthesis is sped up by enzymes, which are biological catalysts that lower the activation energy (energy required for the reaction to occur). Without them, it would be impossible for photosynthesis to occur. This topics deals with kinetics, which is central to the study of reactions in chemistry.
