Contact your state’s dept. of education for info. or pick up a local four year college catalog. Since you already have a degree, you will probably only have to take several graduate level Ed. & psychology courses, and do student teaching. Don’t worry about the Ed. & psych. courses, they’re easy (compared to the science & math classes).
You might be able to complete all the requirements in two semesters.
Physical science teachers are at a premium; you should be able to find a teaching job easier than most new teacher applicants.
Also note; N.Y. State requires a master’s degree in a specified period of time to continue teaching. Don’t know about other states.
My advice; try to succeed in dental school !

Programs like “Teach for America” as well as some others, can get you teaching after a few education courses. How long before you can take a National Teachers Exam depends on you and the program that you choose. Some provide in classroom help, after you get a school and a classroom while others may let you flounder on your own.

I enjoyed my stint with high school chem class. I was the department’s lab assistant. We blew something up every day ;-}
