Its a summative for grade 12 physics. It just has to be relevant to physics and demonstrate or prove something.

How is double jumping against the laws of physics?

I was playing Spider-man 3 and in the beginning that narrator dude was like “Ok, here we go again, breaking the laws of physics. Practice your double jumping”. Or something to that effect. I have a basic understanding that once an object is in motion it stays in motion until it comes in contact with something else consisting of matter. Can someone that is good at physics go more into depth and explain why double jumping is considered breaking the laws of physics?

What can I do with both a physics degree and a chemistry degree?

I am attempting to get a double degree in physics and chemistry and then going on to a PhD program in physics. What can I do with this? I’m I know that you can do more than teaching, research, and flipping burgers, so don’t give me any crap about how it’s a useless.

What has particle physics contributed to mankind?

I just read up on the Higgs Boson particle, and have always found particle physics interesting, and while I know it’s essential to our understanding of the universe, can anyone tell me HOW it’s been useful to mankind?

Where are the teleporters and the gravity machines and the tachyon emitters (which as we know from Star Trek, are always useful if you can reverse them in a pinch.) Are physicists just wasting taxpayer dollars on this alleged, “research”?
What physics project can I incorporate on different types of strings, and the sound quality of it?

I am to do a physics project, and I chose it to be on music. I have a device to measure frequencies of the sound waves and an instrument at which I can hook a string to, and change its tension, thus causing a different sound change.

My physics project is to have a set of pre-lab questions, post-lab questions; and atleast one set up of durable, functional, and beautifully constructed equpment (using new equipment in a new way is acceptable as well)
I know the topic at which I would want to base my experiment on, but I do not know what to create of it.
Or if any other ideas involving music and strings, please let me know. I am still undecided upon what I want my project to be and what to build.
What are some examples of bad movie physics in the movie Superman?

heygirlhey asked:
what are some examples of bad movie physics in the movie Superman and what scene/s? What are the physics principles that are applied to the scenerio? What theories or laws can help to describe what actually occurs. Can you please show me how to use potential numbers to show how to solve the equations or theories?

What grade were you in when you took high school physics?

Or what grade are you in if you’re currently taking high school physics? I was a senior when I took it. When I was in school everyone took it as a senior. Currently I’m tutoring a kid whose taking physics as a sophomore. She says its common at her school to take physics in that grade. Personally, I think that she and a lot of the other kids at her school are taking it too early. I don’t think that she has the necessary math background to get the most out of the subject. She’s only had one year of algebra and she just started geometry. No trigonometry yet. No wonder America is falling behind other countries in science education.

I am a freshman in college currently working towards a BA in math. I am kinda regretting not starting on the physics path because I like applied science better. If I were to go to grad school for applied math, what does that exactly mean? how does that differ from say physics, or engineering? ANd what kind of jobs can you get with applied mathematics
