One of my relatives has a friend with a marine biology degree, and she swims with sharks in an aquarium. I have no idea why she does this, but apparently she has gotten fond of the sharks and is not afraid of them. They are not Great White Sharks, because Great Whites do not do well in captivity. I would check with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and various other faculties to see what jobs might be available. Sounds really interesting, and good luck!

There are a lot of jobs in marine biology.
Look at states that are near the ocean. Many places are around seattle WA, Lots around the coast of FL, and many in CA. But the east coast has many programs that have some great jobs. Google marine biology jobs see what you find. Also there is a web site that I use a lot called sciencejobs.com. So you can see what jobs are out there and what qualifications you will need to each one. BS MS PhD.

Many conservation non-profit organizations have great volunteer programs in marine biology. Some are even in other countries if you are interested. One is called SCA (student conservation association). They are a great non-profit orgs.. And not tree hugging organizations. Too far off the beaten path for me.

Research and technical animal care as well as preserving the species through captive breeding programs. They conduct tours for visitors and make the public aware of what is happening and the latest discoveries and techniques. Check out the Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco or the one in Monterey Bay that does marine animal rescue and return to the wild. They also tag and track marine animals to learn their life patterns, feeding and breeding areas.
